There are many mobs in Minecraft that are tamable, like ocelots and wolves, for example. Today, we will be talking about horses, donkeys, and mules. The reasoning that we will be speaking about all of these different types of animals is because in order to explain the breeding nature, we will need to bring all of these animals into the equation. Horses and donkeys will be found in two different biomes , the savannas, and the plains. Mules, however, can not be naturally found and have to be bred by the player directly. These horses can only be spawned into the game by using various in-game commands. To spawn an undead or skeleton horse, the commands needed are as follows.
Mules are passive mobs that were introduced to Minecraft in Update 1. In survival mode , they cannot be found naturally. They can only be obtained through the breeding of a Horse and a Donkey. In order to breed a mule, one must have a donkey and a horse of any kind. To breed them, feed each a Golden Carrot or Golden Apple which will activate love mode. They will then run to each other and mingle together for a few seconds, and a baby mule will be born between them. Mules are slightly smaller than their horse parent, and when they grow they share traits of both a donkey the long ears , and the horse color, tail, etc.
To tame a horse, approach it with nothing in your hand and right click on it. Try again, and again, until finally you see some red hearts and the horse lets you stay on. It usually takes 3—5 attempts, but you may be luckier or unluckier than that. You can make the process quicker by feeding the horse first. Different horses have different health, jump strength and speed. Most horses can jump over obstacles that are 3 blocks high, but some are worse at jumping than that and a few are even better, with the very best horses able to jump high fences.
