Ryan Gosling and Justin Timberlake reportedly enjoyed a mini Mickey Mouse club reunion this weekend, just a day before their former co-star Marque "Tate" Lynche was discovered dead. The Notebook star was hosting Saturday Night Live for its December 5 show, and caught up with his former roommate Justin at the after party in New York after the show, according to Us Weekly. Ryan was joined by his girlfriend, Eva Mendes, for the event where the pair enjoyed the night at Dos Caminos. Ryan also introduced Eva to Justin, but they already knew each other and hugged hello. The website reports that the trio partied until the early hours of the morning, finally calling time on the great night at 4. He also appeared in the Broadway version of the Lion King in and the third season of American Idol, which premiered in January , where he reached the semi-finals.
Justin Timberlake opened the Oscars with a high-energy performance of "Can't Stop the Feeling," but one of the most memorable parts of his act had to be when he had a mini-reunion with his former Mickey Mouse Club costar, Ryan Gosling. Not only did the two appear in multiple skits together on the '90s show, but they were briefly roommates when Ryan's mother had to return to Canada during their stint on the show. While the duo looked quite chatty during a commercial break, things seemed a little tense when Justin shimmied his way past the La La Land actor. So, was Ryan's resistance to dance along all an act for the cameras, or do the two secretly have some unresolved childhood beef? Well, the answer is complicated. Even though the two aren't enemies, they aren't exactly best pals either.
Rewind 21 years ago and tiny baby Justin Timberlake and tiny baby Ryan Gosling were frolicking in their best double denim as Mouseketeers in the Mickey Mouse Club. What a time to be alive. Two decades later, with some slightly better haircuts, wives, children and a lot more facial hair, both have found themselves nominated for Academy Awards in the same year in some kind of magical, Micky Mouse-related coincidence. Surely this calls for the biggest and best bromance reunion of all time. Can we look forward to a warm embrace on the red carpet at the Oscars this month? Um, probably not. Justin's recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter is guaranteed to kill any dreams you have of seeing the pair dedicate their acceptance speech to one another, as he's confirmed that their old school friendship is officially no more.

First, Timberlake offered Gosling a quick pat on the shoulder while making his way through the audience to perform his Academy Award-nominated hit song, "Can't Stop the Feeling. Later, Timberlake was photographed standing with Gosling and his sister, Mandi, appearing to put his arm around the La La Land actor for a hug at one point. Timberlake and Gosling were both in attendance as nominees on Sunday night, the former for Best Original Song and the latter for Best Actor, though both walked away from the ceremony empty-handed. The duo's friendship dates back to the early '90s when the future stars shared the small screen with the likes of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Keri Russell on the Disney Channel series. At one point, Gosling even lived with Timberlake and his mother, Lynne, when his own mom had to return to Canada for work obligations. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published earlier this month, Timberlake revealed that he and Gosling had not kept in touch over the years.
The Hollywood Reporter sat down with him before the Oscars — which he'll be attending as a nominee for the first time — and focused on his cinematic chops, which started way back when he and a bunch of kids who'd grow up to be hugely successful — like, oh, Britney Spears , Christina Aguilera , and Keri Russell , to name a few — got their first big break on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club. It turns out that one of his fellow Oscar nominees, Ryan Gosling , was his roomie back when they were both cutting their performance teeth on the Disney program in the '90s — and that the two haven't kept in touch in spite of their shared beginning. Fair enough, but Timberlake went on to praise The Mickey Mouse Club for kicking off the careers of some meteoric talents. We were learning how coverage and editing and cinematography work. And being put in front of a live audience, learning how to engage the crowd to get a laugh. Honestly, it was like SNL for children.

Timberlake attended the show's afterparty at Dos Caminos restaurant in New York City, where the two "sat together all night" an eyewitness tells the magazine. The year-old "Mirrors" singer -- who's hosted SNL five times -- was spotted at the afterparty, dressed down in jeans and boots. Gosling, of course, was also in attendance, alongside his girlfriend, actress Eva Mendes. Timberlake and Gosling, 35, clearly have plenty of things to talk about. The two superstars were notably close during their time together on The Mickey Mouse Club starting in , with Gosling at one point living with Timberlake and the singer's mother, Lynn, when his own mom had to go back to Canada for work reasons. I think he's one of the best actors in our generation, for sure. FBF to that time when a 3-way meant something completely different!!
