Space: Above and Beyond 1?23 – ‘…Tell Our Moms We Done Our Best’ – TV Rewind
Space: Above and Beyond is a short-lived mids American science fiction television show on the FOX Network, created and written by.and and season episode with
Liz Shannon Miller. But what did air was fascinating, as it gave real effort to ground the storytelling in ways that made the scenario seem legitimately plausible. Mooncake is the best — adorable and yet highly lethal. There were plenty of interesting sci-fi touches to the action, including the introduction of clone soldiers that brought up some deep questions about the nature of humanity. But more importantly, there were kick-ass space battles especially given the level of technology available in for such things. Moore returning to sci-fi television for a pilot directed brilliantly!
Sign in. A Chig ambassador could be the key to peace, end the war and home for the Earth forces. The head of Aerotech is requested to the talks by the ambassador but when he arrives he knows more than appears. A new kind of unbeatable chig fighter emerges. Equipped with a new source of energy, it's the prototype of a deadly weapon that could change the course of the war.
It begins with an apparent real possibility of peace, and ends in death and despair. It is bleak, and cruel, with barely any moments of hope. And that, sadly, is the nature of war. Or, to be more specific, the nature of war profiteering. Because one of the possible interpretations of the story arc, taking into account the hints and rumours dropped throughout the series, and the statement from the alien ambassador that his race sent a warning message to stay away from their territory, is that Aerotech deliberately ignored their transmission, and started the war merely in order to profit from it. Which is pretty horrific. There are a number of things in this episode that come off as entirely ambiguous, and open to interpretation, and are still hotly debated by fans of the show, even today.
Stardust was the second episode of Space: Above and Beyond to air on a Friday, as had originally been planned. Of course, it was too late to help the show.
