One of the most raved about events this year is Young the Giant.
Sometimes it starts with some light toe-tapping and swaying before it inevitably turns into full-blown expression through movement. The best shows often inspire this in the audience, turning fans into an amorphous blob that grooves along in-time with the music. At those shows, every fan in the audience often finds a new friend, if not many more, as the music takes over and attendees become possessed by the music that brings them together. When pop group COIN kicked off the evening, fans were still stuck in traffic attempting to get inside the venue. However, despite the congestion on the way inside, there were still fans who arrived early to see the upbeat set — including at least one fan who was there just to see COIN. The group danced in sync with each other, and fans did their best to keep up while belting the lyrics to some of their most popular songs. However, they performed more than just their old hits — Fitz and the Tantrums also gave Red Rocks the chance to preview a few of their new songs.

Who, by the way, killed it — according to sources how made it out early. Luckily I was in time for the two headliners, and inside a nearly 10, person venue that is sold out, it usually feels like most of the mile-high is there too. Noelle Scaggs is from Denver actually, so she was pretty happy to be home and playing at said best venue on earth. The chemistry between Noelle, Fitz and the crowd is unmistakable — they are there to put on a show , and they deliver every single time. Lucky for us, the band is also releasing a new album this fall. And what to say about Young The Giant?
