The car is enormous and people are calling it a dinosaur, but you cannot deny its capability and the ability to go off-road or actually anywhere you decide this car to be suitable to go. There are not a lot of body on frame SUVs left out there as much of the market has gone for a modernistic approach and have decided to change the perspective to a contemporary one. But now the GX, the car is still going strong with minimum updates made to its look and design. The newest version is not going to change much. They are going to keep things simple and close to the formula that they have been pushing for so long and we will see where it takes them. In a market dominated by newest and more modern vehicles, the Lexus GX is regarded as a remnant from a different era. A time traveler which ended up in the 21 st century without a probable cause.
Lexus has given its body-on-frame GX SUV a minor update for the model year, with the headline feature being yet another new interpretation of the brand's spindle grille. The massive maw now has a really interesting angular 3D pattern, which Lexus says better aligns the GX with the rest of the Lexus lineup. A new Off-Road package is the other standout feature. It adds a degree camera that can also show the view from underneath the car, a transmission cooler, a fuel-tank protector, and what Lexus calls Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select. Crawl Control has five different settings to modulate the car's throttle and brakes at low speeds, improving traction over rough terrain, while Multi-Terrain Select is basically a fancy grouping of off-road driving modes. Rioja Red leather is a new option, as is Gray Sapele wood trim, but otherwise the interior is the same as it was before, with a standard 8.
Lexus says it made these changes to bring the GX in line with other recent products, which is why those LED headlights also have a more modern look. Other goodies bundled with the pack include a bespoke lower front grille surround, different side mirror caps, a black finish for the exhaust tip, and a scarlet look for the taillights. Also available will be an Off-Road Package reserved for the Luxury trim. Fork out the extra money and Lexus will reward you with lots of cameras, a fuel tank protector, transmission cooler, and Multi-Terrain Select. Output is channeled to the four-wheel-drive system through a six-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission, with a Torsen limited-slip differential and a two-speed transfer case installed for off-road prowess.
Featuring three spacious rows of seating and a slew of luxurious interior amenities, the newly redesigned Lexus GX is the perfect choice if you want to ride around town in comfort and style.
