All across America people are deciding on Monday that it would be really fantastic to go grab a drink with X on Thursday. But then when Thursday actually rolls around they realize it would actually be more fantastic to go home, flop on the bed and watch Carpool Karaoke videos. My grandmother just got bubonic plague. Bailing is one of the defining acts of the current moment because it stands at the nexus of so many larger trends: the ambiguity of modern social relationships, the fraying of commitments, what my friend Hayley Darden calls the ethic of flexibility ushered in by smartphone apps — not to mention the decline of civilization, the collapse of morality and the ruination of all we hold dear. Bailing begins with a certain psychological malady, with a person who has an ephemeral enthusiasm for other people but a limited self-knowledge about his or her own future desires. In the abstract, the offer to meet up with an interesting person seems great, or at least marginally interesting.

Why it's sometimes OK when your friends bail on you
Last week, I was supposed to go see a play with my friend Natasha. And you know when your friend does, too. If the person is truly your friend, you owe it to your friend and your friendship broaden your perspective. What could be going on to cause your friend to bail? For her part, Natasha had already considered what her bailing would do to me, and she felt really bad about it. That was nice for me to hear as her friend—she had, in fact, considered my feelings when making her decision, rather than just being totally self-centered and not worrying about what it meant for my night. I was super proud of her for taking stock of her Self, and realizing that instead of socializing she needed to take a self-care night.
Bale and bail are homophones, which means that they sound exactly alike but have different meanings and spellings. Despite having the same pronunciation, they are very different words and cannot be used interchangeably. Bale is related to a group of something such as pieces of hay or cotton that are tightly bound together. It can be either a noun or a verb. Bail has three primary meanings, all of which relate to the word remove. Bail can mean to pay money to temporarily remove someone from jail , to remove water from a boat , or to remove oneself from a responsibility or obligation.
I understand that things come up. If it happens once, fine. Maybe they just simply forgot or something else came up that took all of their attention. My time is valuable. If I make plans to hang out with them on a Saturday afternoon, or any day of the week for that matter, they need to realize how lucky they are. Your decisions always impact others and they need to remember that. Above anything else, bailing on plans is rude.
Two such words, bail and bale , can be potentially disastrous if misused. For example, if you ask someone to bale you out of a situation and he or she takes you literally, you may find yourself in the back of a truck, packed into a tight bundle, and tied securely with twine. - Search also in: Web News Encyclopedia Images.
