ABC bounced back from last summer's controversy of the Bachelor in Paradise scandal with a robust season that included two of television's biggest new hits. The Good Doctor showed that audiences are still into medical dramas, and the revived Roseanne may it rest in peace, more on that in a bit performed so well that it has every network looking into their archives for even more reboots. Throw in the solid performance of the new-look American Idol , and ABC had a better than decent season. Most networks hope and pray for one new success each season, ABC got three. That will help ABC cope with its losses, which includes the exits of its political drama Scandal and the bewitching fairytale series Once Upon a Time.
