We had a wonderful meal! Food and drinks were good but service was slow considering the restaurant was not busy. We requested separate checks and the waiter agreed but did not comply. Delicious food, nice ambience, quiet, great service Two thumbs up! As for food, I left hungry because I disliked the food so much.

But Mr. Taylor and the executive chef, Michael Kaphan, who are co-owners, give local a new meaning. Many of the vegetables they serve were grown on the five acres behind the restaurant, in North Salem. Also, on Friday Happy Hour is from 11 to 7!! Tried this new place recently for dinner with a group of friends with great expectations. Those expectations were soon dashed. The service was at once both slow and almost hesitant. As if the wait staff didn't know how to.. The food was ok. Nothing great or out of the realm of ordinary.

Intended to go to another restaurant, but came here. Great happy hour specials. Blue point oysters were great, and fish tacos were outstanding. Marcos was the man with schucking the oysters - fast and friendly. Charlie at the bar was super friendly and made sure We came here during Restaurant Week and what a treat. Great service, such delicious food, good wine and great value for money.

Inside the seat dining room—decorated with whitewashed shiplap panels, black-and-white photographs depicting farm life and rotating bookcases lined with tomes dedicated to fishing and agriculture—Kaphan serves seasonal plates like bone-in, house-smoked pork belly with fried green tomatoes, a sushilike composition of the daily catch over riced root vegetables, and a monkfish milanese served with bitter farm greens and sun gold tomatoes.
