There are not many franchises that endure for 5 decades, and fewer still that resonate with the public consciousness the way Star Trek did. CBS and Paramount have come together to produce a comprehensive home video release containing all the adventures of the first crew we journeyed with on the Enterprise. From the first voyage of The Original Series back in to that final moment they set a course for the second star to the right in The Undiscovered Country, Kirk and Co. Running from to , here are all 79 episodes of the series that kick-started it all. Yes, the original pilot The Cage is included, in both regular and extended versions.

I bought the Star Trek 50th Anniversary box set as a birthday gift to myself, and I cannot wait to wait the Original Series. The box set itself looks amazing over-sized inner box, with a slipcover and I love all the disc art. I am looking forward to watching all the episodes and the movies! Beautiful sound and picture, and a lot of interesting extra content. Far superior to previous collections. Here at Walmart. Your email address will never be sold or distributed to a third party for any reason.
The Australian Region B edition was released first, and the only one to have the Blu-ray logo imprinted on its box, as that territory became the sole one to see a DVD counterpart as well. No other DVD version is known to have been released anywhere else in the world. Largely collecting previously-released material, including the recent Director's Cut of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan — albeit with new, unified disc art and repackaged into two Amaray cases in a softboard slipover cover, the two of them packaged side by side in the hardboard box. The boxset also contains artwork cards for the Original Series movies by Juan Ortiz , and an insignia badge the design of the badge differing between the Region A and Region B releases. While in some cases still being marketed as region-restricted, this release is in actuality region-free as this has increasingly become commonplace for the Blu-ray format.
Review: STAR TREK 50th Anniversary Blu-ray Collection
Of all the great Hollywood entertainment franchises, only Star Trek has continued to show its audience a positive vision of the future, inspiring generations of astronauts, scientists, leaders, and artists to try and make that vision a reality. Star Trek has also been a cornerstone film franchise for Paramount Pictures. The disc Star Trek: 50th Anniversary TV and Movie Collection is that celebration, focusing on the TV series and films based on the original crew of the Starship Enterprise that first launched the franchise back in And yes, it is the corrected version. You also get all of the previous extras on the other film discs. Unfortunately, the other films have not been remastered, but certainly should be and badly need it, as the presentations are rife with excessive DNR Digital Noise Reduction that makes everyone in each film look like wax figures. Star Trek: The Journey to the Silver Screen is a single bonus disc comprising 5 all-new documentaries produced and directed for this set by Roger Lay, Jr.
