The pool designer was really insistent that a pool ladder isn't done anymore, and isn't "modern" looking, and said that an 18" bench would be easy to jump over, but I really don't think I want to constantly be yelling for them to jump far away from the wall. I like having a ladder in the deep end. I didn't realize that wasn't done anymore I don't think clearing the 18" bench would be hard for my kids, but it is a valid concern especially when you have people over who aren't used to your pool.

Jahmmy - PM I have a pool tri coming up in a few weeks. I was reading a race report and someone posted about how she had trouble getting out of the pool. My arms are going to be tired and if I'm in the deep end there is no way I will be able to hike myself on to the pool deck.
